‘Suspend Chase Elliott’: Fans demand brutal punishment for HMS’ ‘Golden Boy’ to denounce NASCAR’s favoritism that hurts Bubba Wallace

At the Chicago Street Course, HMS star Alex Bowman won the race, but his celebration was interrupted. To quote a phrase from Dr. Doofenschmirtz, the character from Phineas and Ferb, if we got a nickel for every time Bowman’s celebration was interrupted by a NASCAR rival, we’d have two nickels. That’s not a lot, but it’s odd that it happened twice. Teammate Chase Elliott, however, has his own drama.

Last time it was Denny Hamlin, and this time it happened to be his student Bubba Wallace. Naturally, the internet is divided on this incident. However, another incident has surfaced that has escaped the attention of the mainstream media. This time, the culprits are Chase Elliott and Daniel Suarez.

Apparently, Suarez annoyed Elliott in some way, and the Hendrick Motorsports driver retaliated. He took revenge on the cool-down lap, just as Wallace took revenge on Bowman. However, it is very likely that the 23XI Racing driver could get in trouble for the stunt. But what would be the consequences if NASCAR had noticed the other guy?

What happened between Chase Elliott and Daniel Suarez?

Is NASCAR showing favoritism by not suspending Chase Elliott? React!

As luck would have it, the two were battling for 13th place when they made contact. Elliott started with contact on the final lap, and Suarez retaliated harder. Elliott’s first contact also ended with an innocent Brad Keselowski riding with him. Then Suarez sent the Hendrick driver spinning. All of this happened on the final lap, but the drama wasn’t over yet.

An angry Elliott later chased the Mexican driver on the cool-down lap. He then began to taunt Suarez while his window net was down. The two drivers then had a heated exchange about the incident and the arguments that followed.

It may not have been as dramatic as Wallace’s incident, but Bowman was willing to give him some leeway. The original stoppage between Bowman and Hamlin was, to tell the truth, completely unjustified. Now it just remains to be seen if NASCAR learns of the other scam and takes action.

NASCAR fans want justice for the HMS driver

It is safe to say that many fans were angry with the 2020 Cup Series champion, with some calling for his head, stating: “Obviously they have to suspend Chase Elliott for this.” Another was baffled that two cases of the same offense elicited different reactions. One said in disbelief: “Wait a minute, did Chase do the same thing as Bubba without anyone saying a word about it?”

Elliott was already in trouble last year for intentionally crashing another driver. A critic recognized this and demanded action. “Chase Elliott is a thug and should be benched for the rest of the season.” Another critic mocked the HMS driver for his ability to dish out penalties and not take them. “LOL. Don’t give it away if you can’t take it back, Chase. It’s a nothing burger.”

Finally someone noticed: “Chase got what he deserved.” There were not many who were willing to lend a listening ear, “So you’re telling me that Chase started some crap, got dumped for it, and now wants us to feel sorry for him? What a pity party.”
