2 dead, 5 injured when car crashes into house in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Two teens were killed and five teens were seriously injured when a vehicle they were riding in crashed into a home in Sioux Falls.


A Dodge Durango SUV lost control shortly after 6 a.m. Saturday morning and collided with a tree and a house at 18th Street and 2nd Avenue.

Two of the young people died on site. The other five teenagers were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. Several occupants were not wearing seatbelts.

Speed ​​appears to have been a factor in the crash. It is not known whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident, but the incident is under investigation.

It is unknown if anyone in the home was injured.

The names of those involved are not being released at this time due to their age and the notification of family members.
