Two pedestrians killed in traffic accident in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – Two people died Saturday in Franklin County after being struck by a pickup truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP reported that a 43-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman from Tallahassee were crossing Highway 98 – near Lanark Village – in the Carrabelle area of ​​the county shortly after 10 p.m.

According to authorities, the couple was hit head-on and thrown onto the shoulder after a 25-year-old woman was driving a pickup truck.

The driver suffered minor injuries. The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, the woman died on the way to the hospital, officials said.

FHP has not released any details about the cause of the accident.
