Missing Ocean View man found dead and partially buried

Police are investigating the death of a man whose remains were discovered on a property in Hawaii’s Ocean View Estates.

The man is 51-year-old Adam Santos, who was reported missing on June 30.

On Tuesday, at around 2 p.m., police received information from an anonymous source that something was believed to be dead and partially buried on a vacant lot in Ocean View.

The anonymous source pointed to a previously reported missing person from the Tiki Lane area of ​​Ocean View Estates, Hawaii, who may be the victim and gave specific instructions on how to get there.

Ka’u Patrol Officers responded and conducted checks on a vacant lot in the 92-9200 block of Tiki Lane, where they discovered the body of a man lying face down covered with dirt and rocks.

Detectives arrived at the scene and found the man with serious injuries to his head.

An autopsy of Santos was scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.

George Dale Foote Jr., 38, of Pahoa, was arrested and charged with a number of offenses following a violent incident involving a juvenile at a Puna residence on Tuesday.

At approximately 4:00 p.m., Puna Patrol Officers responded to a reported panic alarm at a residence in the area of ​​the 15-100 block of Kamanu Street in Pahoa.

Upon arrival, police contacted a woman who is Foote’s partner and the mother of the 15-year-old male victim who was visiting the apartment.

The teenage victim told police that after knocking on the front door, Foote came out, threatened the teenager and told him to leave.

Foote then allegedly grabbed a small bucket of liquid believed to contain gasoline and a lighter from the bed of his pickup truck. When the teen asked to speak to his mother, Foote threatened to pour the gasoline on him and set him on fire, police said.

After calling for the victim’s mother, who did not come out of the house, Foote allegedly doused the victim with gasoline, causing his eyes to burn.

The victim retreated to the street. Foote allegedly followed the teenager, who reported hearing Foote ignite the lighter.

Foote was subsequently arrested at the scene without incident.

The teenager was treated on site by Hawaii Fire Department personnel.

Foote was later charged with first-degree terroristic threatening, attempted first-degree assault and three other misdemeanors.

His bail was set at $24,000 and he was later released on bond. His first court date is scheduled for August 1 in Pune District Court.
