Fatal hit-and-run accident in Newark under investigation

NEWARK, DE— Delaware State Police are currently investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred yesterday afternoon on Salem Church Road that left a 57-year-old Newark man dead.

The collision occurred at approximately 4:14 p.m. as the victim was walking northbound on the right shoulder of the road, just north of Michaels Lane. An unidentified white vehicle, also traveling northbound, entered the shoulder for unknown reasons and struck the pedestrian. The vehicle then fled the scene and continued northbound.

The victim was immediately taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities are not releasing his name until family members have been notified.

Investigators are looking for a white vehicle with suspected damage to the right front and are asking anyone with information about the accident or the vehicle involved to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.

    BALTIMORE, MD— Earlier today, Baltimore Police responded to a tip about possible drug trafficking involving a minor in the 1700 block of Lemmon Street. Although no subjects were found dealing drugs upon arrival, officers conducted a thorough search of the area.

    During their investigation, a significant quantity of Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) was discovered in a vacant building on the same block. The drugs were seized and handed over to the Evidence Control Unit (ECU) for further examination.

    Baltimore police have praised officers for their diligent efforts to address public concerns and potentially prevent further criminal activity. The investigation is ongoing.

  • Absecon drawbridge reopens in Atlantic City

    ATLANTIC CITY, NJ—Atlantic City Police have announced that the Absecon Drawbridge, which was previously closed due to a malfunction, is now open. Earlier today, the bridge was already closed in both directions, affecting traffic on Route 30.

    Motorists were advised to use alternate routes such as the Atlantic City Expressway or Route 40 to enter or exit Atlantic City.

    The repair work was expected to take several hours, but the bridge has now been reopened to traffic, restoring normal traffic flow in the area.
