Despite my age, I still run away from sexual temptations – Adeboye

The 82-year-old clergyman stated this during a sermon at the just concluded ministerial and worker conference of the RCCG Americas 1, which consists of northern, central and Caribbean states.

During the sermon he shared Youtube Page on Friday, July 5, 2024, Adeboye referred to the story of Samson in the Bible when he warned preachers of the gospel to beware of sexual immorality and the false belief that their “anointing” could help them resist any temptation.

“Some people say, ‘Why are you still running at your age? I run faster than I used to because the closer you get to the finish line, the more careful you have to be.’

“Some of you may say, ‘Dad, what do you say, are you still running?’ I run fast.”

“‘With all your anointing?’ Does anointing turn your body to stone? Samson was anointed. He single-handedly killed a thousand soldiers. A woman finished him off. I hope the boys are listening.

“You can say, ‘Is anyone still interested in an 82-year-old man?’ She’s not interested in you; she’s interested in putting an end to all the great works God has done through you.

“You see this woman smiling at you everywhere. She’s smiling, and she’s not your wife. Run away.” said the priest.

And girls, when you see a boy smile at you and say, “Where have you been all my life? It looks like the sun just came out.”

“He calls you sunshine. When he’s done with you, you won’t even know the difference between sunshine and sunset. You may laugh, but mark my words.

“I warn my children, especially the boys. I said: if the devil attacks you, tell him to go away, but if you see a girl smiling at you funny, run away because you can’t win the fight.”

“Have you not read a report that a man committed a crime some 42 years ago and is now finished with his service? Anyone who tells you that everything you do is hidden will remain hidden until the wind begins to blow.

“The Bible says, flee the lust of youth. It did not ask you to say that grace would be enough. There is no grace for what God says you should run from. Maybe grace to run from,” he added.
