Minnesota Vikings rookie died in car accident, was 24

NFL draftee Khyree Jackson of the Minnesota Vikings has died as a result of a car accident in his hometown of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. He was 24 years old.

His mother, Ebbony Jackson, confirmed the death to TMZ. She was notified of his death today at 4 a.m. ET.

Jackson was a cornerback and was selected by the Vikings in the fourth round of this year’s NFL Draft. He was the 108th pick. Jackson previously played for the Oregon Ducks and Alabama Crimson Tide.

The 2024 Minnesota Vikings training camp begins July 27 and runs through August 8 at the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center in Eagan, Minnesota.

The Vikings issued a statement on social media.

We are devastated by the news of Khyree Jackson’s death following a car accident overnight. Our thoughts are with Khyree’s family, friends, teammates and coaches, and all the victims of this tragic accident. πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”
