3 injured in head-on collision on China Grade Loop in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 28, 2024) – Three people were injured in a head-on crash on the China Grade Loop near the Getty Freeway.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle accident occurred on Thursday morning. For unknown reasons, two vehicles collided head-on. The white pickup truck then overturned and landed on a pipe in a nearby oil field. The impact caused the truck’s axle to detach from the vehicle.

Shortly thereafter, paramedics arrived and emergency crews worked to remove the truck from the pipeline.

One person suffered serious injuries, two others reported minor injuries. At the time of reporting, authorities have not yet released any information about the cause of the accident. However, they are working to determine the cause.
