CORNING – The Corning Police Department recently assisted the Elk Grove Police Department in the investigation of a homicide.

Elk Grove contacted CPD regarding a homicide that occurred in their jurisdiction on June 25. They requested CPD’s assistance in locating the suspicious vehicles that police believed may be in the Corning area.

According to CPD, their officers later located one of the suspect vehicles, after which the vehicle was stopped for a crime. Two people were detained for questioning.

With assistance from the CPD, Tehama County Sheriff’s Office and a local SWAT team, Elk Grove detectives executed search warrants at various locations in connection with the investigation.

Elk Grove Police are continuing their investigation.

According to CPD, there is no danger to the community.

The names of the victims are being withheld by law enforcement authorities.
