Pedestrian dies after being struck by transport vehicle on South Front Street in South Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — One person was killed in South Philadelphia after a collision with a vehicle.

According to police, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a motorist on South Front Street at Washington Avenue around 6 a.m. Tuesday.

According to authorities, the victim jumped in front of the vehicle before it was hit.

Helicopter 6 was overhead, and a Penn Medicine parking shuttle was still visible in the middle of the street.

The person’s death was confirmed at the crime scene.

The driver remained at the scene of the accident to speak with police.
