Michigan lawmaker faces serious charges after gun incident – ​​95.3 MNC

A Michigan state House of Representatives representative was arrested and temporarily held in a Lansing jail on suspicion of a firearms incident.

The arrest was made early Thursday morning after investigating a report of a man with a gun and possible shooting. Bridge Michigan reports that Rep. Neil Friske (R) of Charlevoix was at a Lansing home around 3 a.m. Thursday and was arrested for “a possible criminal offense.”

Friske is one of the most conservative members of the Michigan House of Representatives and a member of the chamber’s Freedom Caucus.

On Monday, the Detroit Free Press reported that Friske could potentially face first-degree sexual abuse charges, according to the case report.
