Murder investigation and arrests on Old Georgetown Street

Lexington Police have made an arrest in connection with a murder that occurred this afternoon on Old Georgetown Street.

On Friday, June 21, 2024, at 11:48 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 190 block of Old Georgetown Street for an assault with a weapon. When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from blunt force trauma. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased victim.

The suspect, Roger Wiley, 55, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and assault. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
