4 dogs killed, firefighter injured after house fire in Bellevue

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Four dogs died and a firefighter was injured in a house fire in Bellevue Friday afternoon, according to the Nashville Fire Department.

According to NFD, the homeowners were on vacation, but a guest was staying at the home when the fire started on the back porch/patio.

A firefighter was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a heat-related injury. The firefighter lost his pulse for a few seconds but regained consciousness in the ambulance en route to the hospital. According to NFD, the firefighter is awake and recovering.

Four dogs were in the house and could not leave. They all died in the fire.

The homeowners were contacted about the fire.
