CHP: DUI suspect arrested after fatal crash in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) – A suspect was arrested for drunk driving following a fatal traffic accident early Thursday morning in Fresno County.

The accident occurred around 12:15 a.m. in the area of ​​Highway 180 and Cornelia Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the vehicle of 21-year-old Amadeo Menera crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with an oncoming Nissan.

According to officials, 43-year-old Adeline Ramos, who was a passenger in the Nissan, was taken to a local hospital where she later died.

The driver of the Nissan and Menera were both taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators believe Menera was impaired at the time of the accident.

He was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
