2 men killed in separate shootings overnight in the district

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officials are investigating after two men were shot late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

The first shooting occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of S Street NW, where officers found a man with a gunshot wound.

His death was pronounced at the scene.

Just a few hours later, MPD responded to reports of a shooting at around 3:23 a.m. Thursday in the 4400 block of Hunt Place NE, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was also pronounced dead at the scene.
