59-year-old man killed in traffic accident in St. Clair County

A new report found that traffic fatalities in New York increased in 2021

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Alabama (WIAT) – A 59-year-old man was killed in a car crash Saturday afternoon.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Ricky Barnett of Cropwell was injured when the Honda Pilot he was driving left the road, entered a ditch and overturned at about 1:40 p.m. Barnett was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred on US 231 near the 266 mile marker. No further information is available as ALEA continues its investigation.
