Gordon Ramsay reveals injuries after ‘really bad’ bike crash

Gordon Ramsay has revealed the injuries he sustained in a bicycle accident in Connecticut and sent a “very important message” to his followers.

The TV chef spoke about the “really bad accident” on social media on Saturday and warned on Father’s Day how important it is to always wear a helmet.

“It really shook me up,” he said in the video posted on Instagram, TikTok and X. “Honestly, I’m lucky to be here.”

“I’m sore, it’s been a brutal week,” he said, lifting up his shirt to reveal a huge bruise on his torso.

Ramsay praised the work of the trauma surgeons, doctors and nurses who cared for him at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London before urging his followers to always wear a helmet.

“Honestly, you have to wear a helmet,” he said. “I don’t care how short the ride is, I don’t care that these helmets cost money, but they are essential. Even with children, even if it’s just a short ride, they have to wear a helmet.”

“I have a very important message for all the dads out there… WEAR A HELMET,” he wrote in the caption.

Ramsay, who has six children with his wife Tana, also shared a photo of himself taken before the accident and his damaged helmet after the incident.

Ramsay’s popular series Kitchen Nightmares returned to screens last year after a nearly 10-year hiatus. In the US version of the show – which aired for almost 100 episodes between 2007 and 2014 – the famous chef visited failing restaurants to help them get their business back on its feet in the space of a week.

The second season of the US chef’s reality show “Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars” premiered on Fox in May.
