Sussex County man arrested on drug charges, other charges after traffic stop | Latest News

LAUREL, DE – A Sussex County man was arrested on drug and other charges following a traffic stop Friday.

On Friday, June 14, at approximately 9:00 p.m., a Laurel Police Department officer stopped a vehicle in the area of ​​Little Creek Apartments after observing a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, police say the driver was in possession of a box containing small plastic bags that appeared to contain illegal drugs. The driver was detained without incident for further investigation.

Officials said that during a search, “several individually wrapped small bags of crack cocaine were found in the box, packaged for sale. We also found two larger bags in the vehicle, as well as suspected drug proceeds.”

The driver was identified as 24-year-old Heriberto Ortiz-Bedolla of Laurel. He was charged with:

– Possession of Level 2 Crack Cocaine with Intent to Deliver

– Possession of a quantity of crack cocaine level 2

– Traffic violations

Heriberto Ortiz-Bedolla was released on unsecured bail of $20,001.
