Man and child killed in accident east of Danube | News

(Danube, MN-) A man and a child were killed and several people were injured in a crash in Renville County Thursday afternoon. The State Patrol said the crash occurred around 3:57 p.m. on Highway 212 east of Danube. A car and a truck were traveling eastbound on Highway 212 when they collided. The driver of the car, 55-year-old Ricardo Cantu of Danube, was killed and an 8-year-old passenger also died. Several passengers in Cantu’s car were injured… a 7-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown by helicopter to Hennepin County Medical Center, a 3-year-old girl and 26-year-old Brandee Lugo of Renville suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Olivia Hospital. The truck driver, 27-year-old Justin Macht of Morgan, was taken to Olivia Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
