4 injured, 2 stabbed while trying to stop a driving aggression incident near Boston Common

Four people were injured, two of them by stabbings, as they tried to break up an incident apparently sparked by road rage near Boston Common on Thursday evening, police said.

Police responded to the community area around 11:49 p.m. Thursday for a report of a person being stabbed. When officers arrived, they found a group of four people, all injured, Sergeant Detective John Boyle, the Boston Police Department’s chief spokesman, told MassLive.

The four victims suffered various injuries, he said. One person had a superficial stab wound to the abdomen, another had a stab wound to the hand, another had a broken wrist and a fourth had a bloody mouth from being punched.

The group told police they were walking along Park Street when they saw two groups of people believed to be involved in an incident of driving aggression, Boyle said. When they tried to intervene, they were attacked by one of the groups, they told police.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, Boyle said.
