One fatality in Bloomington accident

BLOOMINGTON, Illinois (WMBD) – A man was killed in a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in Bloomington Tuesday morning.

According to a Bloomington Police press release, it was just before 8 a.m. when officers were dispatched to the intersection of Center and Bissell Streets near Miller Park.

The injuries were severe and the McLean County Accident Reconstruction Team was called in. The motorcyclist, a 28-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy is still pending.

“The loss of a life is devastating for family and friends, as well as for our
Officers. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time of loss,” said Chief Jamal
Simington. “A reminder to all users of the highway system to always be safe and
responsible driving behavior.”

The accident remains under investigation by the Bloomington Police Department, the McLean County Accident Reconstruction Team and the McLean County Coroner’s Office.
