ABC-7 First Alert: Slight drop in temperature on Monday; record heat approaching

Our ABC-7 StormTrack Weather Team has issued an ABC-7 Initial Warning for dangerous heat expected to begin Wednesday through Friday, with temperatures expected to reach 40 to 43 degrees Celsius.

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – We may see less than triple-digit cold temperatures on Monday, but temperatures will quickly rise to record-breaking highs.

Today temperatures of up to 98 degrees are expected in El Paso, and highs of up to 97 degrees are expected in Las Cruces.

The chance of rain is not good for the El Paso area today, but areas north and east of Las Cruces have the best chance of some rain today.

On Thursday, record-breaking heat is expected to reach the border region, with temperatures reaching between 42 and 43 degrees.
