Pittsburgh police investigate armed robbery on Penn Avenue

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pittsburgh police are investigating after a store along Penn Avenue was allegedly robbed Saturday.

Shortly before 5 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a 911 call regarding an armed robbery at a business in the 6100 block of Penn Avenue.

A man entered the store with what appeared to be a long gun and demanded money. No shots were fired and no one was injured. According to a Pittsburgh police report, the weapon was later determined to be a BB gun that the actor had left behind.

The suspect fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and was wearing a white shirt, pink hoodie, black pants, and black shoes with white soles.

Investigators from the Violent Crimes Unit will continue the investigation.
