Houston lawyer murdered at McDonald’s, sister pleads for witnesses to come forward

The heartbroken family of the Houston man murdered at McDonald’s this weekend is hoping someone will speak up to help them get justice.

Jeffrey Limmer’s sister, Jennifer Thomas, says her brother was courageous and unafraid to stand up for his beliefs. The 46-year-old man was shot and killed at the McDonald’s on I-10 in Chimney Rock on Saturday around 6 p.m. while picking up food after trying to calm down another angry customer.

Limmer is a local lawyer. He actually followed in his father’s footsteps by embarking on a career as a lawyer.

His sister says that after a struggle with alcohol, her brother has been sober for nearly three years and remains steadfast in his faith.

“He walked a journey with the AA community and the Bible students around him. He was definitely pursuing Christ, and that to me is the most important part, because we know without a doubt where he is. He’s always been a believer, but he really turned a corner two or three years ago.

Houston police said the man who shot Jeff Limmer left in a blue Ford pickup truck. They are still looking for him.

“Jeff had truly become the man he was meant to be. There are valleys in life. You hate to see your loved ones go through it but it’s when they come out the other side that you can see the man , you can see the woman God wants them to be,” Thomas says.

If you know who the shooter is, you are encouraged to call Houston Crimestoppers at (713) 222-TIPS.

“If anyone knows anything, I pray they come forward and help us find this person, so they don’t do this to someone else. The anger and malice this person has “I don’t want this to happen to anyone else,” Thomas said.
