Police calls: Staying relaxed is not illegal

April 18th

  • A man who has been stretching and doing toe touches in a Seventh Street parking lot for years was asked to do his exercises across the street. The caller said that while the man had done nothing illegal, they were concerned about young girls in the area.

  • A dog weighing around 35 kilograms fell headfirst into a pipe hole in the ground and got stuck. The dog’s owner was not home, but the dog was removed from the hole and a neighbor remained outside on Seventh Street with the dog.

  • A red Chevy had been parked for two weeks and was due to be towed.

  • The caller wanted to tell law enforcement that he had just run a school bus stop sign.

  • A child on a bicycle reportedly attempted to swing a wooden hatchet at the caller.

  • A hit-and-run accident occurred on Central Avenue, resulting in damage to the victim’s left rear wall. Ninety minutes later, another hit-and-run on Baker Avenue caused minor damage.

  • On Central Avenue, a suspicious man blocked traffic and prevented a woman from driving away.

  • Police took a puppy from a Wisconsin Avenue woman who said she found the dog two days ago in Evergreen and was trying to locate the owners. The puppy was a Heeler mix, just 6-8 weeks old.

April 19th

  • An older white RV was found abandoned in a ditch on Edgewood Drive.

  • A black Labrador mix and a Blue Heeler were reported aggressively attacking other dogs on leashes in Depot Park.

  • The owner of a silver truck that was parked overnight in a lot with no overnight parking said he would move it as quickly as possible.

  • A person who lost their dog on Second Street asked police for help finding the puppy.

20th of April

  • Teens on the roof of the parking garage reportedly threw objects at passing cars and shouted profanities.

  • Someone on Texas Avenue heard two or three shots, followed by another handful of shots.

  • A man with a camera around his neck started a fight at a location on Central Avenue. Once on the sidewalk, he continued to be physical and talk back to other men.

  • There was a party on Wisconsin Avenue with screaming and loud music that led to a noise complaint.

April 21

  • The traffic lights on the Second Street pole were turned sideways and the caller said one of them was bent so it couldn’t be seen from the turning lane.

  • An elderly woman apparently picked up a bottle of ibuprofen at a location on Highway 93.

April 23rd

  • The caller said they found 8-10 hypodermic needles on the ground near the Swift Creek Trailhead and were worried someone might step on them or an animal might get in. She disposed of them properly.

  • The driver of a small gray pickup truck was cited for driving erratically on the shoulder and across the center line. The driver also came close when he pulled in front of an oncoming tractor-trailer.

  • A passing man was out on Baker Avenue drinking a tall boy.

  • Two large, furry dogs were left in a gold SUV on Miles Avenue for over an hour. The dogs panted.

April 25th

  • Two dogs showed up at the caller’s house. One was a female German Shepherd and the other was a white male Maltese. The caller put them in the same kennel and said they seemed to be friends.

  • Two black Labradors were seen chasing wildlife near a pond on the Whitefish Stage.

  • A woman was walking with her granddaughter and dog when two dogs knocked her down on Brimstone Drive.

  • A dog owner came to the train station to pick up his dogs.

  • What was considered suspicious was just a man doing an ice jump in the lake.
