Corry man declared dead after accident while under the influence of alcohol, after being thrown out of sunroof

(WJET/WFXP) – A Corry man was pronounced dead after his vehicle rolled over several times while driving while intoxicated.

On Saturday, June 1, Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Chief Warren responded to a 911 call regarding an accident on Tidioute Creek Road at approximately 5:20 a.m.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Dereck Gesin, was under the influence of alcohol when he skidded on the roadway while attempting to turn right on Tidioute Creek Road.

Gesin crashed into the embankment on the north side, causing the vehicle to roll over and over several times before coming to a stop on the road.

Because Gensin was not wearing a seatbelt, he was thrown from the vehicle through the sunroof and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Warren County Coroner.

The Tidioute Volunteer Fire Department and EMS, Tidioute Fire Department and Warren County Coroner Melissa Zydonik assisted at the scene.

The investigations are still ongoing.
