VBPD: 18-year-old shot at Mt. Trashmore and arrested for firearms violations

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – The 18-year-old who was shot Mount Trashmore on May 25 was arrested, according to Virginia Beach police.

According to police, 18-year-old Markal Cook was arrested on May 29 and charged with illegally carrying a concealed weapon (third offense).

Cook was one of two teenagers shot in Saturday night’s shooting. The other was a 15-year-old girl who died in hospital.

According to police, Cook was arrested immediately after his release from the hospital.

10 On Your Side has asked Cook for comment on the arrest.

The shooting remains under investigation.
