Man dies in Harnett County shooting on East Johnson Street in Dunn, police say

DUNN, NC (WNCN) – Police are investigating after they say they found a man shot to death in a Harnett County town over the weekend.

According to Dunn police, officers responded to the 1000 block of East Johnson Street just before 10:10 a.m. Sunday where someone passing through the area found a dead person. Authorities identified the shooting victim as Leslie McKeithan Jr.

Dunn police investigators, along with a crime scene investigator from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, are on site to search the scene, officials said.

“This is an isolated incident and does not pose a threat to the public,” Dunn Police said in a press release.
