16-year-old cyclist killed in accident in Buena Vista

BUENA VISTA, Virginia. – Buena Vista police are investigating an accident that left a 16-year-old cyclist dead.

Authorities said the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of East 39th Street and involved a bicycle and a vehicle.

The cyclist was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

We have been informed that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the accident and is cooperating with the police in their investigation.

The investigation is ongoing and Buena Vista police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call Buena Vista police to speak with an officer, authorities said.
