Hong Kong security chief says democracy activists arrested in court

Hong Kong’s security chief confirmed on Thursday that several democracy activists were arrested outside the court where 14 people were found guilty of subversion in the city’s biggest case under a national security law.

“There were several people outside the courtroom who were causing trouble and disrupting public order. That is why they were arrested,” said security chief Chris Tang when asked whether pro-democracy activists from the opposition League of Social Democrats had also been arrested.
