Oglethorpe man arrested after forcing two minors to drink alcohol until they became sick

MACON COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) – An Oglethorpe man has been arrested following a Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) child abuse investigation.

According to a GBI press release, 32-year-old Edvardo Johnson is charged with two counts of cruelty to children, two counts of reckless conduct and two counts of serving alcohol to persons under the age of 21.

On May 6, both the Macon County Sheriff’s Office and the Montezuma Police Department requested GBI assistance in their ongoing child abuse investigations.

The investigation revealed that Edvardo Johnson forced two underage girls to drink alcohol until they became ill. The minors then told their parents what had happened, which led to a forensic interview.

Johnson has since been taken to the Sumter County Jail.
