One dead after collision with golf cart in Bollinger County

MARBLE HILL, Missouri (KFVS) – A Benton man has died after being hit by a golf cart in Bollinger County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, the collision occurred at 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 26. The accident scene was on Highway 34 west of Route Y, 12 miles west of Marble Hill.

The accident occurred when a passenger in a 2006 Club Car golf cart was ejected and struck by a Textron EZ-GO.

The passenger was identified as 37-year-old Patrick L. Shelton of Benton, Missouri. Shelton was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Anna Delanis at 12:57 a.m.

This is the 24th traffic fatality this year in the area of ​​responsibility of MSHP Troop E.
