Accident in Pune: Two dead after builder’s son’s luxury car plows into motorcycle at high speed

Pune: Two teenagers died after a speeding luxury car driven by the son of a prominent builder in Pune hit their motorcycle on Sunday. Vedant Agarwalthe son of Vishal Agarwal, who runs the construction company Brahma Realty and infrastructure, was reportedly driving his luxury car recklessly when the accident occurred.

The accident took place at around 3.15 am in Kalyani Nagar and a case has been lodged against the 17-year-old auto driver under relevant provisions, police told news agency PTI.

The victims, identified as Anis Avlia and Ashwini Kosta, were traveling with friends on their motorcycles from Kalyaninagar to Yerawada when they were tragically hit by Vedant racing Porsche.

The collision, which also involved several other vehicles, resulted in the instant death of Anis and Ashwini. Ekib Ramzan Mulla, a friend of the deceased, lodged a complaint at Yerawada police station following the incident.

Eyewitnesses said Vedant’s car collided with several vehicles around 2:30 a.m. after he left a nearby pub. Local residents rushed to the scene to help the victims while footage of the accident quickly spread on social media platforms, according to a report by Pune Mirror.

A group of friends were returning home on their motorcycles after a party at a restaurant in Kalyani Nagar.

As they reached Kalyani Nagar junction, a speeding luxury car crashed into one of the motorcycles, following which the two riders fell out of the vehicle and died on the spot, the FIR said.

After the duo was hit, the car crashed into the railing on the side of the road, sources said.

A case was registered against the motorist at the Yerawada police station under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 279 (“rash driving or driving on public ways”) and 304A (causing death of a person by a rash or negligent act not amounting to an offence). negligent homicide), 337 (injury to a person by intentional or negligent act endangering the life or personal safety of others) and 338 (grave injury caused by an act endangering the life or personal safety of others) and provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
