Woman raped and strangled in Maradankerni

Maradankerni Police have launched an investigation after a woman died suspiciously at a residence in Thalai Adi, Maradankerni yesterday evening.

According to police, the deceased was a 44-year-old mother of three and a resident of Maradankerni.

Her husband, returning from a fishing job, discovered her body near the toilet and she was pronounced dead upon arrival at Point Pedro Hospital.

An autopsy confirmed that the woman had been raped and strangled.
