3 free agents the Atlanta Falcons should make a priority this summer

This isn’t the first time this suggestion has been made to a team desperate to have a pass rush. It really comes down to whether Calais wants to continue playing and whether he does if his team of choice is the Atlanta Falcons. It’s that simple for a player who defies Father Time and continues to play at a high level.

Signing Campbell is something that should be a priority due to your lack of a proven pass rush. Even if your rookie proves to be a long-term impact player, rookies rarely post big passing numbers. Trice will get his chance, but Atlanta’s current pass rush is the team’s biggest concern.

Adding Campbell to this defensive line unit doesn’t solve the problem, but it gives you at least 4-5 more sacks this season. It depends on how the Falcons choose to play Campbell in a potential return and whether they would give him more chances to play on the outside. His level of play and reputation in the league locks the veteran into any team he chooses. The pick really comes down to whether or not he thinks Atlanta is a contending team.
