Authorities are investigating firearms incident in Vernon County

VIROQUA TOWNSHIP, Wis. (WEAU) – Authorities are investigating a gun incident in Vernon County.

Authorities are investigating an incident on West Smith Road in rural Viroqua-Westby in the town of Viroqua, according to a news release from the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.

The release states that at approximately 11:15 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office was notified of an incident in which a firearm was allegedly used.

The situation has been brought under control and is being investigated.

There is no danger to the community, the press release states.
