According to police, a man was arrested for threatening to shoot and kill a woman in front of her child

SAN ANTONIO — A man was arrested after threatening to shoot and kill a mother in front of her child, according to San Antonio police.

The incident occurred on November 16, 2022 in the 1200 block of SE Military Drive.

Police said the 34-year-old victim was approached by David Diaz Jr. at a Walmart while purchasing diapers for his 5-week-old child.

Diaz mentioned that he wanted to see their child, the affidavit states.

As Diaz and the victim walked into the parking lot, police said Diaz’s mother was sitting in the passenger seat of the victim’s vehicle while Diaz was near the child.

According to SAPD, Diaz then took the victim’s handgun from her purse and pointed it at her.

The affidavit mentioned that Diaz said, “Let’s go, Mom, before I kill that son of a bitch!”

After the incident, the victim told authorities she was afraid Diaz would harm her and her child in the future, the affidavit said.

According to court records, Diaz is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
