There is 1 fatality in a fatal single-vehicle crash on Lee Co. 145 in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Ala. (WTVM) – Officials say a vehicle accident early Saturday morning claimed the life of 51-year-old Orlando R. Welch.

According to official information, the accident occurred shortly after midnight on Saturday, May 11th. Welch was fatally injured when the 2002 Buick Park Avenue he was driving left the road, struck a stone pillar and rolled over.

The accident occurred on Lee County 145 near US 280, about two miles west of Smith Station in Lee County – Welch was pronounced dead at the scene.

ALEA troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
