This morning, emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries at Route 20 and Centech Blvd.

According to the fire department, the driver of one vehicle was uninjured, but the passenger was suffering from respiratory distress and was trapped. Shrewsbury Engine 3 personnel managed to get into the vehicle and administer oxygen to the patient to stabilize him.

At the same time, the Shrewsbury Fire Department 1 crew used hydraulic tools to remove the car door. Firefighters and paramedics from Worcester EMS in Shrewsbury were able to successfully extricate the patient and transport her to the emergency room.

The driver of the second vehicle was uninjured and refused treatment.
