CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) – Chatham County Police are asking for witnesses to come forward as they investigate the fatal shooting on Highway 204.

Chatham County Police responded to a report of a shooting in the area of ​​Highway 204 near Gateway Boulevard shortly after 2 p.m.

Officers found 25-year-old Tre’Von Moorer with serious injuries. Moorer was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Chatham County Police are still in the early stages of the investigation, but believe Moorer was shot by a person in another car.

Investigators believe that road users may have witnessed the shooting and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to come forward.

Detectives are currently analyzing forensic evidence and conducting interviews to determine a motive and suspect.
