Woman arrested after hitting several pedestrians in Winston-Salem

Winston-Salem police said the Ny’Quasha councilman was driving negligently and recklessly.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A woman is arrested after hitting several pedestrians as they tried to get into a parked vehicle, Winston-Salem police said.

Around 2 a.m. Friday, officers responded to the 400 block of N. Marshall Street to investigate the situation.

The investigation revealed that 26-year-old Ny’Quasha Council was carelessly and recklessly driving south on N. Marshall Street when she struck several people attempting to enter a parked vehicle.

A woman was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Other people who were hit suffered minor injuries.

Evidence collected at the scene showed that speeding and alcohol were the causes.

This investigation is ongoing.
