First Alert Weather: Tracking showers and thunderstorms

ROCHESTER, NY — The atmosphere over Western New York is very moist and this moisture is the breeding ground for any rain showers and thunderstorms that may develop over the next 48 hours. It should also be noted that there will be extended dry periods as well, so it is recommended to track the development and location of any local rain showers and thunderstorms. Right now, the concern seems to be slow-moving downpours that could cause puddles on area roads. News10NBC FirstAlert meteorologists will continue to monitor forecast data and update the threat tracker as needed.

Monday evening will see mostly cloudy skies, with a few showers and thunderstorms. The greatest chance of showers will be south of Rochester. The low will be around 18 degrees. Tuesday will be very humid again, with the chance of a brief shower or thunderstorm. The high will be between 27 and 29 degrees. Wednesday will be another day of partial sunshine, with the chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon. The high will be between 27 and 29 degrees again. It is expected to be cooler and drier by Thursday.
