Woman with samurai sword spotted in incident that left one person dead and two injured

Horrifying footage captured after a fatal incident in Los Angeles shows a bloodied woman carrying a samurai sword in broad daylight.

One woman was confirmed dead and at least two other people were injured in the incident, which occurred around 3:30 p.m. local time on Thursday (July 18) in San Dimas, LA.

Cellphone footage obtained by KTLA 5 shows a woman walking through the neighborhood with what appears to be a sword while blood runs down her leg.

In a statement, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Daniel Vizcarra said that when officers arrived at the scene in the 300 block of South Huntington Avenue between Arrow Highway and Cienega Avenue, they found a woman “with numerous cuts and lacerations to her body.”

When the woman saw the police, she put the sword down. Another clip shows the object lying next to a U-Haul truck parked on the street.

“The woman then leads them to a residence down the street, where officers find another woman also suffering from cuts and who is later pronounced dead at the scene,” Vizcarra continued.

Officers found another woman in the house who was unharmed in the attack but had to be taken to the hospital due to a medical emergency.

On Friday, police said the condition of the two surviving women was stable.

It is currently unclear whether the woman seen in the video was a victim or a suspect in the incident.

Ed Consencino, a resident of the area, told ABC 7 that he “did not recognize” the woman.

“She just said hello, hello. Maybe she was just screaming for help, but at the same time I wonder why she has a sword?” he said.

Although neighbors did not recognize the woman, they said the two women found in the house were “quiet people.”

Roommate Trinh Garcia explained: “They only came out to get the mail, open the garage and take out the trash. Otherwise they were quiet people.”

As of Friday, the Sheriff’s Department said no arrests had been made in the case. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
