Teen shot dead in southwest Houston

It’s unclear whether the teens were shot in the same incident, but police said they are working to determine what happened.

HOUSTON — Houston police said a 15-year-old boy was killed in a shooting and another was injured Tuesday night.

They are trying to determine if the shootings are linked.

Shortly before 8 p.m., the Houston Police Department sent a message to X that a 15-year-old boy had been shot on Rogerdale Road off the Beltway near the Westpark Tollway. Investigators said the teen was taken to an area hospital where he is reported to be in stable condition.

Shortly after 9 p.m., HPD posted again on social media that another 15-year-old boy had been shot and taken to a hospital near the Southwest Freeway at Beechnut Street. He was pronounced dead there.

Authorities said they are trying to figure out what led to the shootings since the Rogerdale location is about three miles from the hospital.

This is a breaking news story and updates will be added if/when we receive them.
