1 dead, 1 arrested after shooting in Opa-locka

OPA LOCKA, Florida. – A fatal shooting occurred in Opa-locka Monday morning, leaving one man dead and another arrested, authorities confirmed.

Opa-Locka police said officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Northwest 129th Street after a fight broke out between two men.

According to police, one of the men involved in the altercation was shot and pronounced dead at the scene by the Miami-Dade Fire Department.

Sky 10 flew over the crime scene, where the man’s body was covered with a yellow tarp next to a white car.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect and the weapon used in the shooting were taken into custody.

Investigators have not yet released the age or identity of the victim or the shooter.

The motive for the shooting and the reason for the argument between the men remain unclear.

The Miami-Dade police have now taken over the investigation.
