Body found on Sunday on the beach of Tower Road in Delaware Seashore State Park

Delaware State Police are investigating a death at Tower Road Beach in Delaware Seashore State Park, south of Dewey Beach.

At about 12:30pm on Sunday, the south side of the Tower Road car park and the beach were closed to the public. A coroner’s vehicle was in the car park and about a dozen police and other officials were on the beach. Some appeared to be investigating something in the dune.

Delaware State Police spokeswoman Cpl. Amina Ali confirmed the investigation into the death but said she did not have further details.

The bathhouse and concessions on Tower Road remained open Sunday, as did the north side of the beach.
