Kane man arrested for allegedly making threats against Calhoun Sheriff’s Department members while on court bail – WLDS

A man from southern Greene County is now behind bars after several arrests by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department.

According to a press release dated May 6,thCalhoun County officers conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of 27-year-old Kevin J. Patton of Kane for possession of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine. According to online court records, Patton failed to appear for a June 4 court date.th He was subsequently arrested by Calhoun officers on June 13 on a warrantth.

On June 18ththPatton reappeared in Calhoun County District Court and was given a new court date of July 16.th.

According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office press release, Patton allegedly made multiple threats of serious bodily harm toward certain Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office employees while on release, describing vehicles and residences.

Calhoun County District Attorney Lucas Fanning then filed three additional charges of threatening a public official. In the days that followed, officials attempted to locate and arrest Patton in several jurisdictions. On June 25,thPatton was arrested by Calhoun County Sheriff William Heffington and assisted by Sergeant Mike Goetten of the Illinois Conservation Police.

Later that day, Patton appeared before Calhoun County Judge Charles H.W. Burch, who denied him pretrial release and ordered him remanded to sheriff’s custody and held without bail pending further court proceedings.
