The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 06/30/2024 at approximately 9:24 p.m., their office received a report of an ATV accident on South Platte Lake Drive, approximately 10 miles north of Hillman, MN in Richardson Township.

According to the sheriff’s office, 19-year-old Madison Nystel of Woodbury, MN was operating an ATV on South Platte Lake Drive. Nystel lost control on the dirt road and was ejected from the ATV. Nystel was transported by North Air Care to North Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Nystel was not wearing a helmet.

Sheriff Larsen says this is an unfortunate incident and serves as a reminder of the importance of safety when operating off-road vehicles. Please obey traffic laws and become familiar with the equipment you are operating. We want to keep off-road vehicle riding a safe and enjoyable activity for everyone. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim.
