Two people arrested in Bay County after child ingested methamphetamine

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – Two Bay County residents were arrested Friday on charges of aggravated child neglect and methamphetamine possession.

At around 5:40 a.m., the Bay County Sheriff’s Office was called to Gulf Coast Medical Center for a report of a 2-year-old child who was unresponsive. This happened after medical tests revealed the child had ingested methamphetamine, officials said.


The criminal investigation department was contacted and responded by starting the investigation.

According to a press release, a search warrant was issued for the child’s residence and a small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was seized.

According to investigators, interviews were conducted with the child’s caregivers.

As a result of the investigation, 34-year-old Daniella Hill and 40-year-old Michael Garner were taken into custody and charged with aggravated child neglect.

Garner was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug-related paraphernalia.
