WDAM 7 Morning Commute for Thursday, June 27

PINE BELT, Mississippi (WDAM) – Today is Green Light Alert Day in the Pine Belt, but drivers should always be cautious and stay alert on their commutes.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation reported an accident in the northbound lanes of I-59 just before Monroe Road (EX 73) around 6 a.m. Thursday. Emergency crews have closed the right lane to clear the scene and assess the situation.

A reminder for Laurel drivers: Teresa Street will be closed from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. through Thursday, June 27 for track repairs by Northfolk Southern. The street will also be closed July 1-3 for additional repairs.

  • ROAD WORK: MS Hwy 42 between MS Hwy 15 and Elmer Browder Road
